4hrs of Classic House... Classic now, but in 1995 just the House jams of the day. From an important closing chapter in the Evolution Of Legendary TRACKS TUESDAY Party, (531 W. 19th St. NYC), a very important & underrated NY club, from 1985-1992 every Tuesday for a mostly young gay urban crowd of 2000 devoted followers. Home of The HOUSE OF XTRAVAGANZA & voguing capital of the world, With David DePino (main floor) & Danny Krivit upstairs as DJ/VJ/light man. Recording very many of my sets on HiFi VHS & DAT tapes that decades later still sound remarkably great. TRACKS changed hands a number of times, but TUESDAY TRACKS parties paid the rent & remained. 1990 changing to "Kilimanjaro", then "Anything Goes", & "Strutts". In the Winter of 1992-3 the Original Shelter opened its doors to us for SHELTER TUESDAYS. & before finishing there, we had already taken up Saturdays & Sundays at SFB (SOUND FACTORY BAR), where we ended up well into 1996.

THIS SUNDAY's tape is a solid 4hr set of classic house from SFB (SOUND FACTORY BAR) 1995... No video @ SFB.. so the visuals are borrowed from previous Tracks tapes & my massive video collection of voguing, fashion runway, dancing, with loads of great special effects.

Understanding the Evolution Of Legendary TRACKS TUESDAY Party, (531 W. 19th St. NYC), a very important & underrated NY club, from 1985-1993 every Tuesday for a mostly young gay urban crowd of 2000 devoted followers. Home of The HOUSE OF XTRAVAGANZA & voguing capital of the world, With David Depino (main floor) & Danny Krivit upstairs as DJ/VJ/light man. Recording my sets on HiFi VHS tapes that 30 years later sound remarkably great. In the early 90's I had several NY DJ residencies, sometimes playing up to 5 & 6 nights a week. This is also a time I like to think of as the golden age of Hip-Hop, featuring Hip-Hop in some degree in all of my sets, some even 100%.

In 1993 together with David Depino & Charles Jackson, we moved our very successful TRACKS parties to Saturdays & Sundays at SOUND FACTORY BAR... (aka SFB). David Depino in the main room & me downstairs in the lounge, which now focussed on Hip-Hop, + a little R&B, Reggae, & even a few classics. This is one of those SFB tapes, looking forward to sharing it with you, Danny 🙂

Recorded at legendary TRACKS, 531 W. 19th St. NYC... a very important & underrated NY club, from 1985-1993 every Tuesday for a crowd of 2000 gay, mostly young urban male devoted followers. At the time arguably the voguing capital of the world. With David Depino turning out the main floor, upstairs I was wearing several hats as DJ/VJ/light man. 3 sides of the dance floor were covered with giant video screens, & could be quite intense, like you were dancing in the video. But it also had the potential of being overbearing & distracting, so I really needed to tightly control what was being shown,

I wanted the crowd to focus more on the music, & rather than just show videos along with my DJing, I made specially edited composites of voguing, fashion runway, soul train line, & all kinds of dancing. They had state of the art video equipment & loads of special effects, layering, patterns, extreme painting & colorization.

A lot of the time I used the visuals as a to the mood-of-the-room subtle wallpaper, intermittently working it like my light show. It was a very important part of my sets, so besides showing up with crates of records (it was a time of all vinyl), I usually also had a crate of my composite visuals to work with for my weekly Tues 5pm to 5am DJ sets, & eventually every Friday... treasured times. This is one of those tapes from 1992.

Finally we ended up at Sound Factory Bar & stayed there on Saturdays & Sundays through 1995. I recorded a lot of tapes over those years. This Sunday's tape is a solid 3+hr house set from 'Shelter Tuesdays' party 1993... . Shelter didn't have visuals, so they are borrowed from previous Tracks tapes & my now massive video collection of voguing, fashion runway, dancing, with loads of great special effects,
