Full Detail about Danny's injury

Danny while in Tokyo slipped in the rain and severely broke the tibia bone directly above his ankle and a fracture below his knee. The break was sharply diagonal.
April 30th he had the surgery, where they discovered a third fracture just below the tibia.

The misalignment was very severe so the doctor had to insert permanent metal rods into those bones to align from the knee to the ankle, and tighten them up with the bolts.

Coming out of surgery Danny was in unimaginable pain for 3 full days. Now the pain is still severe but more manageable. Danny has several medical conditions that are complicating & delaying the recovery process. That said, the doctors are happy with the surgery outcome.

He has to stay in the hospital for a minimum of 2 weeks in Japan post surgery.
First 6 weeks, he needs to use crutches to walk carefully without putting any pressure on the leg.
And the rest of the time, keep his injuries elevated above his heart.
Continue to use crutches for 3 more months for the bones to stick back together.
After 6 months, he will be able to walk but full recovery might take longer than 1 year.
